Hi, I'm Jen. I work as a film photographer in Chandler, Arizona. I’m working on new portfolio pieces that show my film style: simple, elegant, and timeless portraits. These sessions help me create new artistic work for my portfolio and are best for people who truly enjoy the style and experience of film photography.
Who
I’m looking for individuals who like a minimal, classic look. Picture tailored suits, elegant dresses, and subtle jewelry. You also should feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy a relaxed, natural photo experience in public spaces. My style is minimal, elegant, and confident. I focus on real moments, soft light, and the classic look of film photography.

Enjoy relaxed, natural portraits rather than overly posed images
Have a wardrobe that aligns with a simple, classic style
You don’t need any modeling experience. I’m just looking for people who feel comfortable being themselves in front of the camera.
Expectations
Sessions are relaxed and enjoyable. I’ll guide you gently and give you space for natural moments to happen. Most sessions take place outdoors in simple public spaces where the light, textures, and surroundings help create a timeless, understated look. Film photography moves at a slower pace, so we can focus on making thoughtful images instead of taking lots of photos. These sessions are meant to create work that shows the refined direction of my photography. Participants should be comfortable with their images being shared.

Limited availability, but we will work with your schedule.
Vision
For this series, I’m making portraits that feel elegant, classic, and subtly expressive. Think:
Tailored suits or classic menswear
Simple, refined dresses or elevated everyday style
Minimal jewelry or heirloom pieces
Neutral or soft color palettes
Clean, simple backgrounds
Natural movement and genuine connection
My goal is to create portraits that feel timeless and natural, not overly styled or trendy.
What to bring
Bring a water bottle, a small mirror or touch-up kit, and comfortable shoes to walk between locations if necessary. I will bring a small wagon and a changing tent for your convenience.
Requirements

• A large number of posed images
• Heavily styled fashion or glam photography
• Bright, bold wardrobe styling or statement accessories
• Extensive retouching or dramatic editing
Instead, these sessions focus on simple, thoughtful portraits made on film. The images feel timeless, understated, and real. Since these sessions are chosen to fit the project’s vision, not every application will be selected. I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to apply.
Please email a recent photo of yourself. Casual phone photos are totally fine. I use these just to get a sense of your style and to see if the session is a good fit for the project’s vision.

If you feel like a great fit for this project, please complete the application form below. Selected participants will be contacted via email or phone call. As part of building a varied portrait portfolio, selections will focus primarily on new participants.
